Living in the RisingSoul Community

Life is rustic in rural Bulgaria and we wanted to create an authentic experience. So we have blended the Bulgarian mountain way of life that connects you to the land and mountains with the charm of the cosy homely Irish country cottage that I had growing up. Our guests say “its a place that takes you back to childhood memories and immerses you in nature”.

Expect puppies, log fires, retro CD’s and videos, books and board games, vinyl records, red wine and Netflix around the fire and conversations about anything from world peace to computer programming!!

We currently provide coliving accommodation in the villa for a maximum of eight people in three bedrooms with some additional sofa bed spaces for overnight visitors or festive occasions.

King Butterfly Ensuite

Our ensuite king size bedroom with fabulous double windows looking over the mountains and church sunrise views in bed are something special. The room has storage for two people and a small wet room with shower, sink and WC. The post-box red antique Pechka wood burner is a rare model and sets this room off with its fabulous oak floor.

Fire Fly Twin

Our twin room room is furnished with a double wardrobe and side draws with ample underbed suitcase storage. The room has its original wooden floor and a bespoke antique Bulgarian Pechka wood burner to keep it cosy. This room has a double aspect with views over the courtyard and yoga barn and the mountain and village in the other direction.

Grasshopper Dorm

Our four bed dorm with mountain village and Church views, each bed has its own independent charging point, light, shelves and curtain with a large storage space under the bed, hanging hooks and storage boxes. The room has its very own antique Bulgarian Pechka wood burner, original wooden floor and a shared clothes rail.

Sustainable Community Meals

Ethical and eco conscious practices are important to us at the RisingSoul coliving community. Therefore we are always striving to reduce waste, unnecessary journeys, avoid plastic and eat a sustainable locally sourced plant based diet. We support local producers and the village wherever we can. We understand that everyone has their own personal dietary needs so don’t worry we’re not here to judge and we will always cater for you as an individual where required to the best of our ability.

We have adopted some abandoned puppies, a stray cat and rescued two caged chickens who are happily becoming free range hens. So everyone around here gets involved in market day!! We also have our own apples, grapes and berries growing on the property and will begin to develop a small herb and vegetable garden in the spring.

The RisingSoul Coliving and Retreat Space believes that kick starting the day with meditation and yoga, followed by a healthy breakfast is a great way to boost wellbeing and productivity.

That’s why we provide our travellers and digital nomads community with an optional 7am meditation class, followed by our in house healthy and hearty breakfast from 7.30am – 9.30am. These are provided for all our guests and are included in your accommodation package.

After that eating at our coliving and retreat space is very much a communal affair, guests contribute 5 euro a day and we keep the kitchen fully stocked. Most of the time we have talented vegetarian and vegan chefs preparing our main meals for us. But we also have days when we ask our guests to pair or group up (depending on numbers) and take a turn to cook for the whole community. Community meals include a glass of local red wine or beer with dinner.

It’s a great way to share cultural cuisine and build friendships you only have to cook occasionally saving time on shopping trips and transport costs. The best bit is you get to enjoy a fabulous lunch and dinner prepared by your fellow travellers and digital nomads or our talented volunteers. No shopping no food prep it’s like being back at our parents but without the curfew!!

Eating Spaces

At the RisingSoul Retreat we have a fabulous private courtyard with garden furniture and a spectacular mountain and church views. Along one side runs a traditionally Bulgarian roofed open fronted stone building. This area is perfect for relaxing, socialising, working and eating in during the spring and to autumn seasons when you can watch the stunning sunrise.
