May - Nov

The RisingSoul Retreat is a friendly, rural yet vibrant international community of nomads. The dynamics change along with the seasons, but it’s usually a mixture of couples, solo travellers, volunteers, digital nomads and guests.

We are also developing the BalkanNomads project which will provides additional private and coworking spaces for location independent workers, to long term rent or buy in the village. In this way we continue to grow our sustainable, diverse and mindful community, learning from the skills and practices of those who join or visit us.

We may be in a peaceful remote mountain valley location but we are an interactive and active bunch. We welcome and embrace people from all cultures and love to share ideas, experiences, music, history, stories and music. We are a busy group with a mixture of life experience, we all work hard be it as yoga coaches, freelancers, digital nomads or taking care of the practical aspect of running the guest lodge.

Summers are outdoor dining, daily yoga and meditation practices and lots of creative projects. Sunny days by the river, shaded forest hikes and music festivals. The days can be busy with cooking, harvesting fruit and vegetables and developing the gardens. But we make time to chill out around the fire enjoying the stars, fairy lights, fire poi, guitars and traditional instruments, veggie BBQs or Pizza cooked in our 200 year old clay oven.

We are not always open in the winter season, this depends on residents, as we also like to travel at quite times. If you are with us during the winter its a magical time full of log fires, retro CD’s and videos, books and board games, vinyl records, red wine and Netflix around the fire. We love dinner parties, camp fires, retro music and video nights, Netflix and popcorn days out at the market or visiting the local area or Spa and lots more.

Between busy Guest stays we function as a family community with people dropping in from all over the world. We eat together, socialise and explore this amazing and stunning country, that we are grateful to be able to live in. In our short time here to date we have made group weekend visit’s to Shipka Pass & Buzlukka Monument, Stara Zagora Lakes, Seven Rila Lakes, July morning Black Coast, Begleka Festival and Veliko Tarnovo, Dryavano Monestry with weekly local visits to Tryavna, Dzhulyunitsa Market and Voneshta Voda Spa,

We support local producers and the village wherever we can. We understand that everyone has their own personal dietary needs so don’t worry we’re not here to judge and we will always cater for you as an individual where required to the best of our ability….. Whats next?

After developing all the buildings, renovating a second house for residents, renovating the yoga barn and tea house. We are now working on sustainable income from our upcycling eco shop and our forest glamping site. We will further develop the gardens creating more home grown produce each year and were excited to open the Tea house and Coworking Space providing a natural drinks & snacks bar for our guests and holding locals events to give back to the community.

We would love your input, suggestions feedback and reviews so you would like to get involved get in touch to find out more. We have big plans for the coming years when work will begin on a natural pool & wood fired hot tub or sauna. Beyond the yoga garden with the church view our land runs into the mountain forest, this is where are building our rustic glamping accommodation. If you have experience in natural buildings and glamping pods and wish to volunteer next spring please get in touch info@risingsoulretreat.com
